SYNCubator is an open deck session for 13–18 year old DJs. Fifteen minutes, a real club rig, a real crowd, and a working pro on hand all afternoon. No agent, no following, no gatekeeping — just a memory stick and some tunes.

The format

Three hours. Twelve slots. One club.

Turn up with a USB

Load your tracks onto a memory stick and that is genuinely it. The club rig is a full Pioneer setup, so whatever you have practised on at home will feel familiar within about thirty seconds. You get a fifteen minute slot inside a three hour window, and the running order goes up on the wall when doors open.

Play the main room

Win your Sunday and you go through to the finals. The winner takes a real warm-up set at Bonobo on a Friday or Saturday night, opening for a ticketed headliner.

A pro in the room

Every session has a working DJ on hand running a short clinic — mixing in key, reading a room, EQ, transitions — then giving feedback on your set.

Two age categories

You compete against DJs your own age. If one category fills up faster than the other we flex the brackets rather than turn people away.

Bring your people

Mates, parents, grandparents — bring whoever will cheer. It is a daytime session in a proper club, the bar is open, and the venue takings are what keeps the whole thing free for the DJs. Watching costs nothing.
